My Approach
“The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.” – Thomas Edison

Philosophy
Food is medicine.
My approach to health is to get to the root cause of the health issues in the first place and apply some basic (yet tremendously effective) nutrition principles to promote healing within the body. So many of us experience poor sleep, anxiety, “the afternoon slump,” bloating or indigestion after meals, diarrhea or constipation, chronic heartburn, low energy and the list goes on. These are all things that should not be considered “normal” and often indicate an imbalance of some sort.
An initial consultation will help us align on your health goals and my approach as a nutritional therapy practitioner. We will jointly decide if my approach aligns with your expectations and if they do, we will establish a health plan with clear next steps. I will guide your healing journey the entire way, suggesting functional testing as needed and meeting with you regularly to check in on the recommended protocol and your healing.

FAQs
Answers to Your Questions
What is functional nutrition?
Functional nutrition includes the consideration of all aspects of health, including diet, health and overall lifestyle. A functional nutritionist uses food as medicine to heal the gut, restore imbalances and correct nutrient deficiencies.
How is it different?
Functional nutrition is unique to the individual and includes a focus on diet, overall health and lifestyle. All together, these things make up an individual’s unique health needs.
Do I have to know how to cook?
No, there are many prepared food options that are available that you can incorporate into your lifestyle and part of our work together can be focused on building your confidence with some basic recipes that will become your favorite “go to” meals.
Do I have to stop eating all my favorite comfort foods?
Absolutely not. We will uncover what needs to be worked on and often times can find healthier versions of your favorite comfort foods that will better nourish your healing body but I strongly believe in finding ways to incorporate those favorite comfort foods.
This sounds expensive, how can I afford this?
Many times clients will have been to many different doctors, spent countless hours not feeling well and continue to suffer. When incorporating functional testing, the investment you are making will pay off by allowing us to pinpoint exactly what needs to be addressed and target the healing so that you can get to living your life with improved energy, better sleep, improved digestion, reduced brain fog and many more benefits. You will realize how amazing it truly is to feel well again.
